I've been looking for the words "engineering" or "engineer" in Cantonese, and also in Mandarin, but less. Most of my family members describe them by their physical expectations, like "they make things", or from a Computer Engineer perspective (like me), I would describe myself as "someone who makes computers".

It is not accurate and it's extremely different. Engineers design, innovate, test, improve and push technologies. But simply saying "making things" is perceived to be a member of an assembly line, or a tech support person.

How these two words would be translated in Cantonese? Please provide Cantonese phonic

UPDATE: I did some research and the words for Engineering is 工程 工程师: "Work Formula Division" which makes sense actually. Yay I learned something today

Hello nikeunltd. Have you tried researching these terms by yourself first? We have agreed that translation requests are allowed as long as the OP (Original Poster) shows some research effort. – Alenanno Feb 2 '12 at 15:04

The Cantonese entry in CantoDict is gung1 cing4 si1, same characters as the Mandarin gong1cheng2shi1, 工程師.
