comment Are there concrete rules of conversion between “homophone” English and Chinese proper names?
Can you think of a two syllable Chinese name that sounds more like America than 美国 does? Google "murica" for discussion of how Americans say America.

comment Which measure word should I use with 角色?
I think you should explain it is not a matter of singular versus plural, For three particular roles you would say 三个角色, and for three kinds of roles you would say 三类角色..

comment Translation of “fraction” in a sentence
@Stan is right, the English given here is not good. Do you want to say "Just 15% of the population is smart"? Or do you want to say "Just one third of the population is smart"? You could well say "A fraction of the population is smart" while leaving the fraction indeterminate. But "A fraction one half of the population is smart" is not good English.

comment What's the difference between Classical Chinese and Modern Chinese?
These examples give a completely wrong impression that Classical Chinese was more explicit and modestly more verbose than modern.

comment 乒 and 乓 characters are together a pictographic group?
The question here is different from the title question in chinese.stackexchange.com/questions/14138/… but is already asked in the text of that question. And the answer here partly conflicts with the answer there. I think it would be better if the answers were merged and one of the questions closed.
