comment What is the phrase for “sounds like” as in “it sounds like your dad is getting better”?
Very interesting site, I'll give it a go once I get a bit better! Right now I like to read ebooks on my kindle because it enables me to do a quick dictionary lookup, something which is much more cumbersome and pace-breaking when done with a physical book/dictionary.

I see that 像 is used in one example but not in the other, are there any rules regarding this? If 听起来 already means "sounds like" what role does 像 fulfil?

comment Is the sentence “我们要怎么去机场?” ambiguous?
Very nice explanation, I assumed the position of 要 is the key here, so it's nice to have a confirmation!

@NS.X. That's also quite interesting, 要 is one of those special characters which just seem to be everywhere and change everything,, >_>

comment Is there a difference between 有趣 and 有意思?
@DrunkenMaster Because splitting doesn't help always. 意思 becomes "idea, opinion, meaning, wish, desire"; and so now I have even more meanings I don't know how to fit properly into a sentence. It's like trying to understand "deal with it" by looking up "deal" and ending with "to give out in shares or portions". If everything can be looked up in a dictionary or a grammar book, should we just close this site down and read dictionaries?

@DrunkenMaster: Sure, here you go: 有趣 = interesting, fascinating, amusing; 有意思 = interesting, meaningful, enjoyable, fun. Oh wait..I already did that and that's why I'm asking the question.. ^_^
