I'm learning Chinese as a hobby. I love the language and many aspects of Chinese culture. It is difficult, but also challenging! Since I'm in Croatia, there are very few books to learn from, and even less Chinese people to practise with. Internet is virtually all I have.

Due to all this (and lack of spare time to learn), I am an extreme beginner, even after messing about for over two years! :(

Feel free to contact me if you're bored to death and would like to chat with me on Skype once in a blue moon (and laugh at my 外国人普通话:)).

Please don't laugh at my stupid questions!

comment Why isn't 到 (dào) used in this sentence?
@Alenanno: <beginner>The second version (某天我到北京) sounds to me like "I was in Beijing one unspecified day in the past" or maybe "I came to Beijing one day"?</beginner> Hopefully, someone will clarify..

comment Why is it possible to replace 都 with 也 in 什么都没有?
@Flake: I think I got it: "I don't have iPhone either". When you use your second language to learn your third language sometimes you have a brain fart :)

You said that 能 and 可以 are mostly interchangeable, is there a rule on when they are not?

comment How do I decide whether to use 可以, 会 or 能?
If I got it right, 会 stands on its own meaning "having the ability/knowledge to do something", while 能 and 可以 are interchangeable in meaning "willingness" or "having permission" to do something?

@user103: I'm am not sure, but they might have been! Unfortunately, I don't have any Chinese friends IRL to check with them..

@Flake: Are you saying that "我也有iPhone" and "我也没有iPhone" mean the same thing?
