comment How to introduce “Husband” in social occasions?
外子 sounds too old-style to me.

comment What is the difference between 傻瓜 and 笨蛋?
Quite subtle. Most cases of 笨蛋 are in derogatory sense, while 傻瓜 sometimes could bear some complex subjective feeling: the emphasis may be not on "silly", but other commendatory characteristics. For example, the movie "3 Idiots" is translated to "三个傻瓜", readers will probably think, "they are not really silly".

comment How many commonly used “shi” sounds in Chinese? An interesting Poem included
This question is unclear. Why not just pick up a Chinese dictionary and count how many characters sounding "shi" there are? There're indeed some, but I don't think "Too many" is proper to describe them.

comment What is the difference between 由于 and 因为?
@user1551 Neither I, nor the author of this post, has said "所以" following "因為" should be a must. The "standard" I meant was, "因為...所以" wouldn't be deemed as ill-formed or ungrammatical by any formal standard. And many opinions of 陳雲 are controversial, you know. (Very personally, I dislike linguistic purism.) Anyway, even you haven't considered "因為...所以" wrong, that would be the consensus we can reach.

comment What is the difference between 由于 and 因为?
@user1551 I disagree with (3) either. "因為...所以" is standard Chinese. It has nothing to do with "habit".

comment What is the difference between qi3 and qi3 lai2?
Anyway I edited this post by adding Chinese ... it's painful for native speakers to read bare pinyin.

comment Writing a resume - traditional vs. simplified chinese
In Hong Kong, generally, one English resume is enough. You don't need to particularly prepare a Chinese version.

comment Porcelain Mark Translation?
@QuestionOverflow Authentic ones do have such a claim. An expert, 孙瀛洲 said, "宣德款识遍器身", which suggests the inscription is a convention. However forgeries of year of 宣德 have had a somehow long history: there exist some in 嘉靖 and 万历 in Ming Dynasty, and even some in Qing Dynasty. So currently even some forgeries are deemed as treasures. Anyway, be highly alert to such things, too many counterfeits!

comment Usage of 一定 vs 当然
"我学了10年汉语了,含有水平 。。。 很高" I guess 含有 should be 汉语, am I right? If so, please correct it to avoid possible misunderstandings.

comment translate: Today I worked through 2 chapters of my grammar book
The word "complete" is quite unclear. It seems currently, some native speakers here interpret it as "finish the exercises of two chapters". But, do you mean "finish reading two chapters, and get their exercises done"?

comment Can we omit subject or some verbs in Chinese?
Of course we can -- unless we're not sure if others would misunderstand.

comment Chinese computer vocabulary, and most frequently encountered common computer terms
Well, this list includes both terms in mainland and Taiwan. Just a little too comprehensive. You may rank them into your "Top 250" list.

comment Male equivalent of 小三?
I just want to mention this question reminds me a very brainwashing, vulgar, meaningless, piratical-like, WTF song 小白脸.
