comment how to correctly translate 我想你
nope, you can ask any Chinese. We should not translate a sentence word by word, because there is no one-to-one corresponding of the words in two different language. The better translation is 我正在考虑你, for 我正在想你 has other meaning which will be confused.

comment When can I use 透?
In your case, 透=彻底(thorough)=完全(completely), this is the meaning generally used. And 透 has the meaning as @Grower's answer as a verb.

comment How does the Chinese translation of an English name get established?
By the principle of translation, i.e. 信(correct) 达(clear and coherent) 雅(elegance or polish). Sometimes, they refer to the ancient books to find a word as name. If you need one, maybe I can do this work.

comment how to correctly translate 我想你
Since 'think of' means 思考 or 考虑, one can use 考虑 to replace 想. But 想 is also suitable and has the same meaning as 考虑. 'I'm thinking of you whether suitable for this work' means 我在考虑/想你 是否适合这项工作。

comment What is the origin of the proverbial phrase, “Drink the Northwestern winds”?
@aelephant In China, the 风 always comes from 西北 in winter. Thus, 喝西北风 describe a miserable situation that a poor man has nothing in the biting cold wind. There is an phenomenon that sometimes the writer's ideal life is far from reality, then the general people will give a rather different edition. In this case, 吸风 means 不食人间烟火, i.e. to express one is noble or different from the ordinary people. But 喝西北风 express one in a very poor situation.

comment Fast-written forms of 草书 characters
In response to 谢谢, Chinese always say 不(用)谢 or 不客气 or (你)(太)客气了. Today, the young people in China, they prefer to use '3q' sound like 'thank you' or '3ks' sound like 'Thanks' to express their appreciation on web.

@Stan I love Chinese Poetry, the morden one or classical. Is there someone love it and want to learn it? Is there a chatting room for Chinese poetry?

comment What does 土 mean in this sentence 这个名字有点土?
In ancient China, they think 商 values benefits rather than the morality. Since the government govern its people by morality as it advocate, so 商 is derogatory in ancient China. But today, 商 is a high grade in China while 农 becomes the lowest grade.
