comment Asking “how many cousins do you have?”
Chinese culture is very family oriented. the relations are always very clear.. better example is the word grandfather can be referred to father's father or mother's mother in English, while in Chinese, 爷爷 and 外公 are of different importance, 内外有别. (the previous statement is based on a traditional view point, not for the one child policy environment nowadays)

I am not sure if it's been used in some dialects, but I have never heard of this term in my region, or saw it from any written books.

comment What's the difference between 学 and 学习?
I think this is a better answer for the question. 学 means to learn, 习 means to practice. e.g "子曰: 学而时习之, 不亦说乎."

comment When is it proper to use 托您的福?
I think 托 translated to "rely on" is more precise here. 托 as in 依托 depends on. so 托你的福 -> relying on your 福. 福 as in 福气, means 'good fortune'. Chinese believes that 福 is a kind of positive energy, anyone round some with 福 will take some advantage of it.
