What is a good technique for remembering tones? @VincentB. Pinyin is not taken into account, since it's the one you're supposed to remember when studying. This only tells you which tone it is. :) |

Various ways to say “nice to meet you” Why don't you include that? :D Thanks for the nice answer. I'll accept your answer, but if you don't mind I reserve the right to ask you further stuff in the future... :D |

What are the most difficult things to learn for a westerner? Are you sure this is a fitting question for this site? It's a good one, no doubt, but any of those three is asking for personal opinions and is therefore subjective. Can you consider rephrasing it so it becomes a bit more "objective"? Such as, "what usually are the most difficult things to learn for a westerner?"... Just an example. :D |

What is a good technique for remembering tones? @StarCub Yes. I chose to ignore that in my studying because I can always do that by myself, since I "know" the rules, but seeing the actual tone of the single character comes in handy when you start studying hard characters and not basic ones likes these. :D But obviously, it's a customizable method, everybody can change the rules. |

Various ways to say “nice to meet you” So the one I knew is actually used as a "long time I didn't see you"? And the "renshi ni" one is used for first-times? Interesting... |

Techniques for improving pronunciation Yes, I'm aware of that, and although I didn't think of it honestly, when possible I prefer more reliable sources... :) |

Character Pronunciation Clues Yes, @Petruza that's what I meant with my answer... It's more of a hint rather than a regular pattern or something similar. |
