@StumpyJoePete: You're right, Chinese uses "south-north," and "east-west" axes. Apparently "south" and "east" are "good directions, and "north" and "west" are "bad" directions. That might be worth a question, although I'm not sure it would be considered "on topic." Your thoughts?

@QuestionOverflow: Word order (e.g. the negative comes before or after the verb) is a key feature of most languages. I would not be deterred in this regard by the reference to geography. If I were to tag it again, I'd probably include "word order" in the tags.
