I am also an administrator on Wiktionary and have been for over 3 years. I edit mostly in French, Dutch, English and Mandarin, but I also dabble in Italian, Japanese, Maori and Swedish. You will need to explain a bit more on why the second one is ungrammatical than just saying 'oh, this feels like it's not right...'.

请拿起我来的笔? That makes even less sense than the second example in the question.

Thanks for the answer, but we need a little more than just 'maybe' or 'I guess' here at chinese.se

Just a tip, if you don't know how to add tones to the pinyin vowels, you can use numbers to indicate the tone. e.g., 请 - qing3. Toneless pinyin is next to useless.

No, they can't be used interchangeably. See Question Overflow's answer.

comment Making sense of 去华山怎么走比较好?
This doesn't answer the question. Read the question more carefully. The OP is confused about the use of 比较 here.

@user2619 In fact I wouldn't translate it at all in the question's example, if it was up to me. As it would sound jarring idiomatically. However, that is what it implies in the example. It sounds natural in Chinese, but not so in English. You've pretty much covered that point.

@user2619 Are you conversing with me or just making a general comment about the question?

@pg-robban Because that's not what she's trying to say. She just wants a good way, not the best way.

comment 造反有理 革命無罪: What are the standard English translations of this?
Um.. renovate just doesn't make sense here. You 'renovate' a house by repainting/refurnishing it. It has nothing to do with 革命, which is usually translated as 'revolutionise'.

You mean to revolt, not renovate surely? Unless you are talking about renovating a house...
