comment Never mind in Chinese
@EffectiveMatrix 不存在 just doesn't make sense as a translation of 'never mind' in any situation, at least in Mandarin. Maybe it's from another dialect/topolect? You need to specify it in that case. Mandarin is assumed as the default if it's not mentioned/requested in the question.

comment 角/毛 (10 cents) for money: why?
There is a lot more to that. People don't just pick a random word and start to use it to refer to something. There is a whole science behind it called historical linguistics.

comment 角/毛 (10 cents) for money: why?
You've generalised an individual preference into a language-wide feature. This is simply a bad linguistic practice. In addition, you didn't really answer the question.

comment Can 知道 be used in the sense of “to know someone”?
It's similar to the difference between conocer (to be familiar with, to be acquainted with) and saber (to know, to have the knowledge of) in Spanish.

@DonKirkby I would've closed it as offtopic/general reference because no effort's shown in looking the word up.

comment Radicals: inescapable?
Radicals are essential as they are used for looking up characters in a dictionary so it's definitely advantageous to learn them.

comment In what situations can one use 帥哥?
" People call the young generation 帥哥 in memory of their own long passed golden youth years. " That's just your imagination unfortunately. The youth use the term among themselves, so your theory doesn't quite apply.
