comment What does “yellow face wife” (黄脸婆) mean?
Can you please state the Chinese word? The answer has made some assumptions about it and might or might not be what you are looking for. -1 for 'unclear' from me.

What actually makes the East mean dark green? If you don't mind explaining.

comment What is the difference between 绿 and 青?
This is quite often compounded by the Japanese use of 青い.. which refers to both green and blue in the English sense. See if anyone can come up with a good answer for this.

comment Differences between 正在, 正 and 在 with the meaning of an action in progress?
I agree with @Rephinx 我正在爱着你 does sound awkward. The act of love is (usually) so long-lasting that it's considered a habitual state, which you can't use 正在 for. 正在 should be used for actions-in-progress that are expected to finish in the forseeable future.

comment Is there any difference between 冰淇淋 and 冰激凌
冰淇淋 is used way more often than 冰激凌 in Mainland China. This answer is not correct. 雪糕 is, as zsf222 said, a slightly different form of icecream.

comment How to pronounce Zengyang?
Are you looking for the IPA or an sound clip for this? I am not sure how to 'describe' a sound to you? The 'z' doesn't exist in English, so there is no way to describe it using the English phonology. If you want the IPA, it's easy enough to look it up on WP. Here is the 'z'. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/… Also as @ChineseHulu.com mentioned, you did not specify the tones. Best way to do this? Listen to the way your friend pronounces it including where she places her tongue.

Agree with Rephinx. I can think of many situations where 竟然 can be used in a positive light.

comment Learn Chinese Step 2: Characters. Are there any good tips to learn the writing and make sense of these square characters?
Way too broad. A book can be written on this subject.

comment Learn Chinese Step 1: Sounds (Pinyins). How different is it to English sounds and are there any good tips to learn?
Um... you need to study up on Chinese and English phonologies. This is not something that can be easily covered on a Q and A site. Closed as too broad.

You need a proper dictionary. Some of the definitions either make no sense or are similar.
