I am a gamer, programmer, and a wannabe linguist who is fluent in English and Mandarin, and proficient in French.

I am an achievement hunter. Come and visit me on trueachievements.com

I am also an administrator on Wiktionary and have been for over 3 years. I edit mostly in French, Dutch, English and Mandarin, but I also dabble in Italian, Japanese, Maori and Swedish. We are constantly looking for competent volunteers/lexicographers to contribute to this wonderful multilingual dictionary website.

comment Never mind in Chinese
@EffectiveMatrix 不存在 just doesn't make sense as a translation of 'never mind' in any situation, at least in Mandarin. Maybe it's from another dialect/topolect? You need to specify it in that case. Mandarin is assumed as the default if it's not mentioned/requested in the question.

comment 角/毛 (10 cents) for money: why?
There is a lot more to that. People don't just pick a random word and start to use it to refer to something. There is a whole science behind it called historical linguistics.

comment 角/毛 (10 cents) for money: why?
You've generalised an individual preference into a language-wide feature. This is simply a bad linguistic practice. In addition, you didn't really answer the question.

comment Can 知道 be used in the sense of “to know someone”?
It's similar to the difference between conocer (to be familiar with, to be acquainted with) and saber (to know, to have the knowledge of) in Spanish.

comment What does this mean: 操
@DonKirkby I would've closed it as offtopic/general reference because no effort's shown in looking the word up.

comment Radicals: inescapable?
Radicals are essential as they are used for looking up characters in a dictionary so it's definitely advantageous to learn them.

Closing as offtopic. Translations without prior effort are not allowed here.

Totally offtopic. This website is not suitable for translations with no effort of your own, let alone 'urgent' translations. Try websites like reddit.com

Did you just come up with this assumption yourself?

comment In what situations can one use 帥哥?
" People call the young generation 帥哥 in memory of their own long passed golden youth years. " That's just your imagination unfortunately. The youth use the term among themselves, so your theory doesn't quite apply.

What have you found out? There is no effort shown here at all. Any dictionary should give you at least a few suggestions?

comment Explanation of why 棋 is included in 琴棋书画?
@user3306356 You are using modern mentality to measure something that's considered an intellectual art form historically. Here lies the issue.

I was advised that this website - www.lang-8.com allows peers to review each other's work. Try that.

comment chinese essay review?
Kevin, unfortunately this site is not a essay-correcting service. I suggest you pick parts that you don't understand and ask separate questions. As it stands now, it's a poor question that has no use whatsoever to future visitors.
