@孤影萍踪 I think the question is about Shanxi dialect in particular. Are you also talking about dialects from that area?

comment Japanese 気分転換 in Cantonese?
@gaidal There is no 换人一心, Did you want to say 焕然一新? It is used to describe an object being refreshed, e.g. the car is 焕然一新 after car wash. It's not used for living things or activities.

comment Japanese 気分転換 in Cantonese?
@StumpyJoePete It seems going for a walk or having cold beer after long work hours are also 気分転換, but there is nothing 耳目一新 in them. I can't think of a better Chinese word though...

@user2223 generally in 山西 and 陕西 dialects, 菜 is cai. However each Chinese dialect has many variations, in some of which it is totally possible 菜 is read chai.

@shuangwhywhy That's why I said it's subjective. Challenging with reference request won't help the discussion. I didn't find the original sentence formal as you did, probably that's why I preferred the translation to be as 'authentically colloquial' as possible. I didn't say 玛格丽特混饮 is wrong; just like you mentioned it's formal and maybe academic.

@shuangwhywhy That's subjective and maybe (sub-)cultural.

@shuangwhywhy I agree that usually it's inappropriate to judge the original text in a translation task, however, due to the nature difference between the languages, there are always tradeoffs. In this answer, I favored authenticity (making it sound like native speaking instead of translated foreign language) over accuracy because I think that's what the question is about. If you feel differently, you are welcome to provide another answer:)
