comment How widely used are 印章 compared to signatures?
I think you misunderstood the OP. He is asking about 印章 which is a noun. You're talking about 盖章 which is an action. As far as I know, 印章 is still widely used both in China mainland and Taiwan. You may not have to use it when you buy a cell phone. But, you need to use it for formal occasions ( you actually gave a good example, when representing a company.)

comment How Recent Is the Divergence In Taiwan- and PRC-Accented Mandarin Speech?
Sorry, I flagged to close this question as too broad although I do like the question (I don't have enough rep yet to vote to close). Your question is broad enough to write a PhD thesis, if not a thick book. There are too many examples of the difference. I would suggest you to pick some examples and then ask each one. They could be interesting questions.

I decided to retract my answer since your answer is better than mine. @mazed I do not want to make the issue too complex for you. You will be okay if you just go by this answer.

Occasionally, we see the links go away for some reasons. I like the explanation provided by the first link. How about copy the first section of that first link in case it disappears.

comment What does “你什么都不是” mean?
@deutschZuid Allow me to explain. IMHO, You are a nobody. is a better translation than You are nothing. Person is implied in 什么. I agree that the OP of this answer is somewhat impolite. He probably deserves the downvote. But, his answer is the most correct one here.(I am also a Chinese.)

comment 我一字一字地学习汉语 OR 我一个字一个字地学习汉语
Both are fine. 我一个字一个字地学习汉语 is stronger than the other one in the sense that 一个字一个字地 emphasizes you learn each Chinese word by "个".
