I'd like to learn Chinese just by listening to some radio stations as I do other work.

Are there any good mp3 streaming stations in Mandarin that I could listen to?

  • BTW, I'm specifically looking for mp3 streams over http, so that it works in all networks with all firewalls, and doesn't require any extra software. – cnst Feb 23 '16 at 3:21

tunein.com - TuneIn Radio has a few Chinese channels :) they also have an iOS app. – Ming Feb 23 '16 at 3:27
  • Welcome to Chinese SE! Basically questions asking for learning resources are off-topic as they can become quickly obsolete and are difficult to maintain. But I find currently the list of generally-useful resources for learning Mandarin does lack "radio stations". Hope someone can supplement it. – Stan Feb 23 '16 at 3:34
  • @Ming, thanks, but I couldn't find any mp3 or m3u links on tunein.com; i guess i found that shoutcast is still online and still has easy access right to the m3u lists! – cnst Feb 23 '16 at 3:35

It seems like http://shoutcast.com/ is still online as if it's the early 2000s, and searching for "Chinese" does return a number of Chinese radio stations (about two dozen), and all of which are seemingly available via straight mp3 streaming over http, and the ones I've tried all worked.
