Can someone help me translate this? Thank you - AP

  • First character might be 傳 instead, but we don't write 傳 that way in Chinese. If it's 傳, the bottom part of 叀 is missing in the seal, indicating a Japanese style seal. – dROOOze Mar 10 at 4:30

  • @dROOOze I believe the first character is 傳. The hand writing one also suggests the character is 传. The seal seems not to much space for more strokes. – tsh Mar 11 at 9:41
  • It looks like a name (the author of painting). Maybe a full name, maybe only given name. – tsh Mar 11 at 9:43
  • @tsh the handwriting doesn't suggest 傳 over 傅. Do an image search on 傅 草書, it is near-identical to 傳 草書. When deciphering writing, it pays not to think in Simplified Chinese, which has very little predictive power in deciphering historical or artistic Chinese writing (and indeed, has very little predictive power in the language in general). – dROOOze Mar 11 at 9:47
