你多久吃一次鱼 seems awkward to me. Native Chinese usually don't phrase questions like that.
Instead, we use 你常常吃魚嗎？ (Do you eat fish often?) That sounds more natural to me.

In everyday usage, 发动机 now means some kind of heat engine. OTOH, 电动机 specifically refers to an electrical motor.

Is 就 acceptable (even best) for "and so"?
My take is the use of 就 is largely optional. For example,
架子倒下花瓶碎了
works just as well in Chinese. Perhaps it is even better because the sentence is simpler.
